Return of the Reptile

Return of the Reptile

I knew Daniel was trouble (the good kind) the moment we finished his pentagram cage ring. You don’t just order a piece like that and then go back to wearing plain wedding bands. Once you’ve tasted the dark side of custom jewelry, your wrists start feeling a little... lonely.

So, when Daniel reached out again, I didn't even have to ask if he wanted something subtle. Spoiler alert: he didn't.

The Vision: A Serpent with an Attitude

The brief was simple: a snake bracelet, but make it wicked. We weren't looking for a friendly garden snake or a sleek, minimalist curve. We wanted something that looked like it might actually snap at you if you reached for your coffee too quickly.

I wanted to capture that aggressive energy. We moved away from traditional scales and opted for these bold, overlapping plates that look more like armor than skin. It gives the piece a prehistoric, almost skeletal vibe that catches the light.

The Devil in the Details

The centerpiece, of course, is the head. I spent a significant amount of time sculpting the details, carving every line, just to get the expression right. The mouth is pinned wide open in a permanent strike pose, complete with fangs that mean business.

To give it that "found in an ancient tomb" aesthetic, I went heavy on the oxidation. By darkening the recessed areas of the silver, the texture of the scales and the hollow of the throat really pop. The result is a heavy silver cuff that feels like a relic.

When I finally pulled it out of the final polish, I half-expected it to hiss at me. That’s usually the sign that a custom job is officially done.

Is Your Wrist Too Quiet?

Working with returning clients like Daniel is the best part of this job. We already speak the same language of dark & wicked, which makes pushing the boundaries of design a lot of fun. This one-of-a-kind serpent is officially out in the wild, probably intimidating people at dinner parties as we speak.

Do you have a design rattling around in your head that’s a bit too out there for a standard jewelry store? Let’s make it real.
